I had heard a lot of Natural park “Blue rocks” (Sinite Kamani) near the Bulgarian city of Sliven but I had never seen them. I used to think “Ok, they are beautiful, but how beautiful some rocks could be after all?”, Finally I was happy to discover that I was wrong and the Blue rocks are really, really beautiful.
Reaching the Blue Rocks (Sinite kamani) near Slive, Bulgaria
We were traveling from Burgas to Stara Zagora in a cloudy late afternoon, wondering whether to take the 30-km deviation to the famous natural park. There was the risk that we don’t see anything because of the clouds and the light rain but after all we decided to give it a try. Not knowing where exactly we had to go, we headed to the television tower, assuming this place should offer the best views from up above.

It took us a 25-km drive by a steep mountainous road to get there. Through our journey the weather changed many times – from grey, cloudy sky, to shiny sunset, rain drops and finally a wonderful rainbow.
Sunset on the Blue Rocks (Sinite kamani)
After we arrived the sun was almost down, there was a slight rain and the huge rainbow still there. We left the car and after a short walk we were on the marvelous edge of the hill, looking towards the rainbow and the city. We stayed there enjoying the views for an hour despite the rain and the wind, making many nice photos and memories.
